This TV-series is an alternative to the western thrillers, Brazilian soap operas and endless Russian TV serials either glamorous life or about policemen.
The action takes place in a small post-Soviet town. At the centre of attention are pupils of the local School #1, who will very soon become adults and will be forced to make life changing decisions concerning themselves and those for whom they are responsible. This is a non-trivial story about love, friendship, betrayal, patriotism and about the most difficult and at the same time wonderful period in a human's life, the school years. It is a TV-series that can and should be watched by the entire family.

SUMMARY of the FIRST PART (12 series):

Zapolsk mayor's daughter Genya, no longer wants to study in a private school and wishes to be transferred to the local state school "School №1" where Sasha Solovyev, a boy she is in love with, attends. Although her officious father does not want to lose hold of his only child, Genya succeeds in getting her own way. However, at School №1 Genya`s new schoolmates, including Sasha, don't want to keep company with her. The reason; a prejudice against Genya`s father, who is a rather incompetent government official of the town. He is under the thumb of a notorious chief of the local police Kuev. Together with the mayor, they sell a historic building, which serves as the location of an art centre for students. And hence deprive many children of a place for studing arts. Genya finds herself between a rock and a hard place. On the one hand, she loves her dad, on the other hand, she strives to obtain her schoolmates` acceptance and Sasha`s sympathy. Genya`s form teacher Andrey Nikolaevich, a teacher of physical education, who develops a partiality towards the girl and tries to support her, ends up unwittingly falling in love with the beautiful, gifted and smart schoolgirl. This helps him to become conscious of his feelings towards his wife and to understand that his marriage is a sham, and that he and his spouse have different aspirations in life. In the course of her interaction with the students, Genya learns some unpleasant details about the way her father obtained his appointment as mayor and the circumstances of her mother's death. Moreover, it turns out that even Sasha bears a grudge against her father. The town begins a quiet rebellion against the actions of the mayor and his chief of police, and Genya is about to be pulled into its epicentre. The mayor and Kuev suspect that the leader of the rebellion is one of the School №1-crew. However the mayor does not perceive that his mistakes will lead to drastic changes in the town's state as well as his private life. His daughter will join the side of his enemy and everybody will be forced to show their true colours. Of course, in the end, all evil will be punished, and love, friendship and family values will triumph.
